Blumat fuse clip

The Blumat securing clip locks a T-piece and the hose around it, and does so for Ø8 and Ø3 millimetre at the same time. One clip over the joint and it cannot slide off.

The joint that lets go

A Blumat line runs at low pressure and the hose grips the barb, which is normally enough. But plastic hose softens in warm weather, and wherever the line gets tugged a T-piece occasionally works its way out. You do not notice immediately: the water keeps running, just no longer to the plant.

The clip is the cheapest insurance against that, and worth fitting at the points you do not walk past every day.
