Blumat Support

The Blumat ground support is a peg that pins the 8 millimetre supply hose or a distribution dripper into the soil. A small part, and the difference between an installation that stays where you laid it and one that has wandered a month later.

Why a dripper creeps away

A distribution dripper hangs off a thin hose with nothing holding it in place. Topping up, weeding or shifting a pot drags it along, and then it drips beside the root ball instead of into it. The plant gets nothing while the system runs exactly as normal, and you only notice once there is damage.

And for the supply hose

Blumat advise using supports wherever the supply hose lies directly on soil. The hose then stays put and does not wander with temperature changes, which helps at the branches: a T-piece pulled out of line will eventually leak.
