The 200 by 100 centimetre grow table carries two 100 by 100 Danish trays side by side, or one plant tray of the same size. Two square metres of growing surface at working height.
Two metres long is not two one-metre tables
The temptation is to think you simply have two tables next to each other. In practice a continuous top behaves differently, and better.
There is no seam in the middle. With two separate tables there is always a gap between the tops where water runs through and where a pot sits not quite level. On one two-metre top you place pots wherever you like, including right across the join.
And you can butt two Danish trays together, so runoff from both halves is caught on one continuous surface.
At two metres, access is the thing to plan
This is worth thinking about before siting it. A table a hundred centimetres deep can be reached from one side to roughly the middle. If you can only get at it from one side, the back row is awkward to tend, and it gets worse as plants grow.
So place a table this length where you can reach both long sides. If that is not possible, the version with castors is the answer: turn it round and the back becomes the front.

Frequently asked questions
Do two Danish trays fit? Yes, two 100 x 100 side by side.
Can I reach the back plants? From one side you reach roughly the middle; plan access from both.
Is this sturdier than two separate tables? The top is continuous, so there is no seam for pots or water to fall into.
Is a tray included? No, that is bought separately.
