A single row in a narrow space

Most recirculating systems place their pots in two or more rows side by side. That takes width, which is exactly what you lack in a tent 80 centimetres deep, in an alcove or along a wall. With every pot on one line you reach each plant from the front, without leaning over one plant to get to the one behind it.

That matters more than you might think. In deep water culture you regularly lift a lid to look at the roots, and you do not want to move a plant that is hanging over its neighbours halfway through flowering just to do so. In a single row, every pot has its front free.

The light follows the same shape. An elongated fixture, or two small fixtures in a line, spreads light over three plants in a row more evenly than one square fixture above a narrow strip.

What is PRO about three pots

Even this small system uses the 50 millimetre pipes of the PRO range, a water pump adjustable between 300 and 2000 litres per hour, a filter in the return line and a float valve you connect a separate reservoir to. With three pots and 60 litres in the system, that mostly buys calm: the solution mixes quickly, and with a reservoir the level does not drop on days you are away.

Everything fits together with push-fit connections, so the system can grow later if you get more space.

Frequently asked questions

Does this fit a 150 by 80 tent?
That is what it is for. The system is 140 by 50 centimetres, and Growrilla gives exactly that tent size as the recommended growing area.

Can I add pots later?
Yes. The pipes and fittings come apart and go back together without tools. Do use parts from Growrilla's PRO range, since they share the same pipe size.

Where do I put the air pump?
Higher than the water level in the pots, on a shelf for example. That way no water can run back through the air lines into the pump if it stops.
