Nine pots in three rows of three, on 130 by 145 centimetres. The Growrilla Hydroponic system PRO RDWC 9 fits a 150 by 150 space and keeps 160 litres of nutrient solution in circulation.
Air from the water flow
Each pot has its own air stone, fed by a 40 litre per minute air pump. On top of that, the controller pot holds a part that is easy to overlook: a venturi elbow.
A venturi works with the flow itself. Water forced through a narrowing speeds up, and at that point a low pressure forms. Through a small air tube, air is drawn in there and mixed through the water as fine bubbles. No extra pump or power is involved.
You set the tube when you start up. According to the manual, you fill the system, switch on the water pump and move the air tube until the effect kicks in. Bubbles in the controller pot show it is working.
It is an addition, not a replacement. The air stones in the pots remain the main source of oxygen. The venturi makes sure the water in the controller pot, where all nine pots come together, is aerated as well.

Frequently asked questions
I see no bubbles in the controller pot. What now?
Move the venturi's air tube again while the pump is running. If the water pump is set very low, turn it up a little: a venturi needs flow to draw in air.
How high do I fill the system?
According to the manual, up to the bottom of the net pots. For the first test, fill just above the connecting pipes and check that everything is watertight.
Which net pots are included?
14 centimetre net pots, one per grow pot.
