Three Blumat Houseplant cones in one pack, each with 80 centimetres of suction hose. Three cones means three pots: a cone reads one root ball, so you fit one per plant.

Why not one cone for three plants

Because every pot dries at its own rate. A plant on a sunny windowsill drinks twice what the same species does a metre away, and a freshly repotted one behaves differently again from one that has stood for years. A cone regulates on the root ball it sits in and knows nothing about the others. Three pots therefore need three cones, which is exactly what this pack is.

One reservoir or three

That is your choice. Three cones can hang in the same container of water, handy when the pots stand together: one refill instead of three. If the plants are spread around the room, a reservoir per plant is more practical than pulling three 80 centimetre hoses to one point.

With a shared reservoir, make sure all the hoses hang to the same depth, or one cone runs dry while the others are still drawing.
