Tropf Blumat maxi set

The Maxi set combines the two things the rest of the range does separately: it is for large pots from Ø30 centimetres and 25 centimetres deep, and it connects straight to mains water. Twelve Maxi sensors, ten metres of hose and a pressure reducer.

Why large pots need a different set

In a pot thirty centimetres or deeper the root mass is not in the top layer. A standard sensor reads too shallow there and regulates on a layer that says nothing about how the plant is doing. The twelve sensors in this set are Maxis: they reach further down and come with 60 centimetres of drip hose, so the drip point can also sit away from the sensor.

Twelve pots is a genuine limit here

Large pots take more water per cycle than small ones, and all of it comes through the same supply line. Twelve Maxis is what this set is built around: ten metres of hose, two end pieces to close off, and the fittings to lay the line. To go further you extend with individual Maxi sensors and more hose, and check whether one run still suffices.

On mains, so with a reducer

The supplied pressure reducer belongs immediately after the tap. Blumat works at low pressure and mains is far above it; the reducer is not an accessory but the reason a tap connection works at all. To run from a tank instead, for rainwater or nutrients, you need a tank fitting in its place and the water level must stand above the sensors.
