What runs through this cable

It is worth pausing on what this connection does, because it is not just a bit of flex. Between the ballast and the reflector runs the full lamp current. That is not a signal and not low voltage: it is exactly the current that keeps the lamp lit, hours a day, day after day, for a whole cycle.

Which is why this is not the lead to economise on, and why its connections are worth checking once a year. A connector working loose gets warm, and heat in a grow room is usually somewhere you are not looking.

Three cores

The cable is three-core, so earthed. It should be: a reflector has a metal housing. A reflector on a two-core lead is not a saving, it is a mistake.

Two metres

Two metres covers the case where the ballast hangs close to the lamp or sits just outside the tent. Measure before ordering: a lead pulled taut tugs at the connector, and that is exactly where you do not want tension. The same lead exists in four metres for when the ballast sits further away.
