AC Infinity IONBEAM S16

The IONBEAM S16 is a set of four 40.7 centimetre LED strips, 42 watts together, with Samsung LM301H EVO diodes at 3000 and 5000 kelvin. They clip on magnetically and run from an included controller.

Light from inside the canopy, not above it

Every ordinary grow light hangs above the crop and shines down. That works for the tops, but the denser the canopy, the less reaches the bottom. Lower flowers stay smaller as a result, and that is not a question of too few watts above the plant: the light simply does not get there.

These strips fill that gap. You hang them not above the crop but among or below it, against a tent pole or an included steel bar, so they reach the sides and lower branches the main fixture misses. They are slim enough to sit there without building a structure.

The distances AC Infinity work to say everything: 2.5 centimetres above seedlings at ten percent, 5 centimetres in veg at thirty percent, 15 centimetres at full power in flower. An order of magnitude closer than a main fixture may ever hang, and it works because each strip draws little power and the aluminium carries the heat away passively.

You can also run them as the only light in a grow cabinet or over a propagator, where there is no height for a normal fixture. In a tent they supplement rather than replace.

Can I light a tent with these alone?
In a grow cabinet or over a propagator, yes. In a tent they belong alongside a main fixture.

How close may they hang?
AC Infinity work to 2.5 centimetres above seedlings on the lowest level and 15 centimetres at full power. Closer than a main fixture, then.

What does SUNRISE/SET do?
It brings the light up and lets it fade again over a period you set, up to six hours, within schedule mode.

Are the cables long enough?
The mains cord is generous, the link cables short. For longer runs use 2.1 by 5.5 mm extension cables.
