AC Infinity IONBOARD S22

The IONBOARD S22 is a flat LED board with Samsung LM301H diodes, built for a 60 × 60 cm growing area. Every diode sits on a single fanless aluminium plate, with a stepless dimmer and a port for the AC Infinity controllers.

A board lights differently from a bar

On a board fixture all the diodes sit together, centred above your tent. Light falls off with distance, and the corners of a tent are simply further from the middle than the spot directly beneath the board. A bar fixture spreads its diodes over several bars, so the light is already distributed across the width at the source.

In a 60 × 60 cm tent that difference is small, because no corner is more than half a metre from the centre. That is exactly why AC Infinity keeps its board models at the smaller sizes and switches the IONFRAME range to bars from 60 × 120 cm upward. If you move to a bigger tent later, that is the moment to look at a bar fixture rather than a larger board.

Two things get the most out of this shape. Hang the board genuinely central, because one that sits ten centimetres off centre turns two corners into the weakest spot in your tent. And let the reflective walls do their job: with a board, more of the light reaches your edge plants by way of the wall than it would with a bar.

How many micromoles per joule does the S22 deliver?
AC Infinity does not publish that for this version. You will find 2.7 µmol/J online, but that figure belongs to the older version with Samsung LM301B diodes. We leave it off this page because we cannot show that it describes this board.

Can I dim the lamp without a controller?
Yes. The dimmer sits on the driver and works on its own. A controller adds schedules and app control on top of that.

Does the board need extra cooling?
No. The housing is the cooling, there is no fan inside and nothing to maintain.
