AC Infinity IONFRAME EVO4 (300W)

The IONFRAME EVO4 is a 300 watt bar fixture with 896 Samsung LM301H EVO diodes, drawn around a square 90 × 90 cm growing area. Its SOSEN driver detaches, and the ten-level schedule panel is included.

What 3.0 amps on the data sheet actually means

AC Infinity quotes 3.0 A for this lamp, and that number alarms people working out how many fixtures fit on one circuit. It is correct, just not here. American data sheets are measured at 100 to 120 volts, and at that voltage 300 watts really does draw about 3 amps.

European sockets supply 230 volts. The same power then draws roughly 1.3 amps, well under half. On an ordinary 16 amp circuit that is a large difference: work from the American figure and you will think five fixtures puts you near the limit, when in practice you have room for many more.

So always convert to your own voltage: divide the wattage by 230 and you have the current in amps. Then add the rest of your tent, because the extraction fan, the dehumidifier and the heater share that circuit and together often draw more than your lighting does. Leave the wiring to an electrician once you start switching several fixtures at once.

Frequently asked questions

Why do you list 1.3 A when AC Infinity says 3.0 A?
Because AC Infinity measures at 100 to 120 volts and you are on 230 volts. The power is the same, the current here is well under half.

Will this lamp suit a 120 × 60 cm tent?
Better not. The EVO4 is drawn around a square field. The EVO3 is the one meant for a long tent that size.

The fixture is 52 × 58 cm and my tent is 90 × 90 cm. Is that enough?
Yes. A bar fixture does not have to cover the floor area, the distance to the canopy does the rest of the work.

Do I have to mount the driver outside the tent?
You may, and the extension cable is included. At this wattage it is not a requirement.
