A reflector with a hammered texture in the aluminium, for lamps with an E40 cap. Available with a terminal block or an IEC connector.
A rough surface spreads where a mirror concentrates
Hammered is the dimpled texture in the aluminium. It is not decoration. A mirror-smooth surface throws light back at the angle it arrives, so the beam keeps its shape and the image of the lamp is more or less projected onto the crop. Directly beneath it goes bright, and the edges fall away quickly.
The thousands of small facets of a hammered texture each sit at a slightly different angle. Every facet throws its ray somewhere else, and together they break the beam into a far more even field. You lose the sharp peak in the middle and gain an area that is more usable across its whole width.
Which you want depends on your space. For a small tent where you use everything out to the corners, spreading suits better. To drive deep into a tall crop over a smaller area, a mirrored surface has the advantage. Neither is better, there is a choice.

Frequently asked questions
Hammered or mirrored?
Hammered spreads more evenly across an area, mirrored concentrates harder toward the middle. Choose on your space, not on quality.
Terminal block or IEC?
Look at your ballast. With an IEC plug pick IEC; if you wire it yourself, the terminal block.
Is the lamp included?
No, the reflector alone. An E40 lamp is bought separately.
