Weigh what you want to hang first

Five kilos per set sounds like plenty until you start weighing. An LED strip or small duct fan sits comfortably under it. A carbon filter does not: even a compact 100 millimetre one soon weighs three to four kilos, and a 150 millimetre filter is well above that. An HPS fixture with the ballast built in reaches five kilos alone.

That does not make them weak, it makes them specific. They are for light work, and for that they beat a pulley system: pull, click, done. Anything heavier belongs on a hanger with a ratchet or pulley.

Work out the load per hanger, not per set. Five kilos per set is two and a half each, and that only holds if the weight really does hang evenly across both.
