Your tent wall is part of the lamp, until it stops being

A bar fixture points downward, but a fair share of its light leaves at an angle and would land beside your plants. The reflective lining of your tent sends that back. In a 100 × 100 cm space this is no side issue: the plants at the edges live partly on light that reaches them by way of the wall.

That is also where the wear happens. A tent lining that has been through three grows is not what it was. Spray residue has settled on it, spilled nutrients have stained it, and along the creases the coating has gone dull. It happens slowly and nobody catches the moment it does, while your edge plants feel it first.

Two things are worth doing. Wipe the walls with a damp cloth at the end of each grow and let them dry fully before closing the tent again. And on a tent a few years old, look hard at the corners and the creases: if the coating is dull or lifting there, you are losing light that a stronger lamp will not buy back. Keep the walls properly taut as well, because a slack wall throws light in every direction except onto your canopy.
