AC Infinity AI Climate Sensor for controller AI+

A 7.3 metre climate probe for the Controller AI+, reading temperature and humidity and calculating VPD from them.

The probe has a Swiss thermal alloy head on an SAE 316 steel stem, with a water-resistant gasket and an IP44 rating. Model AC-SPC24.

Why the measurement belongs on a cable, not in the box

Every climate controller has a sensor. The question is where it hangs, and that decides whether your control means anything.

If the sensor sits inside the controller's housing, you are measuring wherever you could fit the box: by the socket, on the wall, outside the tent. That is rarely where your crop is. And a controller warms itself slightly too, skewing the reading further.

A probe on 7.3 metres of cable separates the two. The box hangs where you can reach it; the measurement happens where it matters.

Where the probe belongs:

• At canopy height, because that is the air your crop stands in.
• Free among the crop, not resting against a leaf or a stem.
• Out of direct lamp light, or you measure radiant heat rather than air temperature.
• Out of the direct airflow from your inlet or outlet.
• Moved up as your crop grows, because your canopy rises.

The IP44 rating means it handles damp and splashes, which is no luxury in a grow tent. The steel stem takes up the temperature of its surroundings quickly, so your reading does not lag.

Check compatibility

This sensor works only with the Controller AI+. For the Controller 69 Pro and other UIS equipment there is a different sensor, model AC-SPB20. The two look very similar and are not interchangeable, so check your model before ordering.

Frequently asked questions

Does it fit my Controller 69 Pro?
No. You need model AC-SPB20 for that.

Does it really measure VPD, or calculate it?
It measures temperature and humidity and calculates VPD from them. That is how every VPD reading works.

Why a second sensor when my controller came with one?
To measure at a second point, or to replace a damaged probe.

Can it get wet?
It is IP44, so it handles splashes. Submerging it is not intended.
