What runs through this cable

It is tempting to see this as a power extension lead with a different plug. It is not, and that explains why any old cable will not do.

A UIS connection carries control. Your controller does not merely tell a fan to switch on, it tells it what speed to run at, and that signal changes continuously as your climate moves. For lighting the same applies to the dimming level.

So this is a standardised cable within one platform rather than a universal extension lead. Devices with a UIS socket speak the same language, and that language has to arrive intact.

What three extra metres gives you in practice:

• Your controller outside the tent. Reading and adjusting without unzipping, which disturbs your climate.
• Your fan hung high rather than wherever the standard cable happens to reach.
• Equipment tucked out of sight, which makes a setup considerably tidier.
• Reaching a second tent standing beside the first.

This version has straight connectors. If your socket sits tight against a tent wall or a frame, a straight plug takes up space you do not have, and a right-angle version suits better.

Can I chain two together?
Growers do for longer runs, but keep it limited. The longer the total, the more scope for signal loss.

Does it fit all my AC Infinity equipment?
Anything with a UIS socket, such as the Cloudline, Cloudforge, Ionboard and Airlift series.

Can I use an ordinary telephone cable?
Do not. The plug looks similar, but you are carrying control signals to equipment connected to the mains.

What if my socket sits against the tent wall?
Look at the right-angle version, whose 90 degree connector takes up less room.
