Male to male: what you need it for

With UIS cables the connector type matters more than the length, and it is the one thing to check when ordering. A cable only fits if each end presents the opposite type to whatever it has to meet there.

This version has a male connector on both ends. That links two sockets together, a port on your controller to the socket on your fan or lamp, for instance. You are replacing a connection rather than extending one.

If what you want is to lengthen a cable already attached to your device, you need the female to male version. That has a socket on one end which the existing plug fits into.

What is the difference from the right-angle version?
That has an L-connector for tight spaces. Note that the right-angle cable does not support some advanced functions on the Controller AI+; this straight cable suits that controller better.
