Bluelab Carry Case

A carry bag with a hard outer shell that lets you leave your Bluelab meter inside while you measure. With dedicated probe pockets and an adjustable shoulder strap.

The Bluelab Carry Case is built so you never have to take the meter out: it sits in a mesh pocket held by a strap, and you read it while the bag hangs from your shoulder. Probe cables tuck under an internal strap so they do not tangle.

The outer shell is rigid and absorbs knocks. Two pockets in the top are made specifically for the probes, and a D-hook on top lets you hang the bag up.

How to store your meter without wrecking it

A bag protects against knocks. What most meters actually die of is something else, and it is worth saying here.

Never store a pH probe dry. The glass membrane only measures while hydrated. Leave it dry for a week and the probe is sluggish when you find it, and sometimes beyond saving. That is by far the most common way a good meter becomes useless.

What to do before the meter goes in the bag:

• Rinse the probes with clean water so no nutrient salts are left on them.
• Dry the outside and the cables so no moisture sits in the bag.
• Keep the pH probe's tip wet with a few drops of KCl storage solution in its protective cap. Not deionised water. That pulls ions out of the membrane instead.
• The conductivity probe can go away dry; it has no membrane to dry out. Do rinse it against salt build-up.

Stored that way, a probe lasts years rather than a season.

The case is made for Bluelab handhelds with separate probes, such as the Combo Meter and Combo Meter Plus.

Can I measure with the meter still in the case?
Yes, that is what it is designed for. Bag over your shoulder, probes in the reservoir, read off.

Is a meter included?
No, the case is supplied on its own.

Can the pH probe go in the bag with storage solution?
Yes, as long as the protective cap is properly closed. That is exactly the intention. Storing it dry is what kills a probe.
