The probe that turns your existing Bluelab meter into a medium meter. Reads soil, coco, rockwool and nutrient solution.

The Bluelab Leap pH Probe fits any Bluelab product with a BNC connector: the Guardian, the pH Meter, the Multimedia Meter and the Combo Meter. You swap the existing probe and measure directly in the medium afterwards, without buying a second meter.

What a probe upgrade changes

An ordinary pH probe is built to hang in liquid. The tip is thin glass, and a medium is abrasive and uneven, so such a probe either breaks or reads unreliably there, because contact between glass and substrate is too poor.

The Leap has a tip that works in both, and a double reference rather than a single one. That second reference is there against contamination: in a medium the probe meets substances that attack the reference solution, and a double arrangement holds the reading stable far longer than a single one does.

It is also gel-filled, and therefore not refillable. That saves maintenance (there is no solution to top up) but it also means the probe gets replaced at the end of its life rather than refurbished.

Frequently asked questions

Will it fit my meter?
If your meter has a BNC connector, it fits. That covers the Bluelab Guardian, pH Meter, Multimedia Meter and Combo Meter. A pen with a fixed probe cannot be converted.

Do I need to recalibrate after swapping?
Yes, always. A new probe is a new measuring element; the old calibration does not apply to it.

How do I store it?
Wet, in KCl storage solution, in the holder supplied. Storing it dry is the fastest way to lose a probe.

Can I refill it when it weakens?
No, this one is gel-filled and sealed. That saves maintenance, but at the end of its life it gets replaced.
