Protective cap for the measuring head of the Blumat Digital Tensiometer.

The Blumat protective cap slips over the measuring head and keeps dirt, splashes and sunlight off the display window and the mechanism. In a grow room or out in the garden that head takes a beating: irrigation water, substrate, condensation and (outdoors) rain and UV.

It is a small part with a clear job. The ceramic cone at the bottom belongs in the soil and needs to stay wet; the measuring head at the top is the part that has to stay dry and clean to read reliably.

Does the tensiometer come with a cap?
This cap is available separately, for instance as a replacement or if you run several units.

Does the cap have to come off to read the gauge?
The cap protects the head between readings. You take it off to measure and put it back afterwards.

No. Bring the tensiometer indoors before frost; freezing water damages the ceramic.
