The Cli-Mate Climate Controller 7A from the KC range drives your ventilation smoothly on temperature, across 5 to 55 °C.

The four dials, and the third one nobody explains

This controller has four settings. Three are what you expect; the fourth decides how calmly your installation runs and is rarely mentioned.

Target temperature. The value the controller works towards.

Minimum speed. The floor your fan never drops below. Set it high enough that your motor keeps turning and there is always a baseline of air exchange.

Maximum speed. The ceiling, useful when full power is too loud for your situation.

Range, adjustable from 0 to 7 °C. This is hysteresis: the band within which the controller adjusts gradually instead of jumping straight to full.

Why that fourth dial matters: set the range to zero and the controller reacts sharply to every small deviation, so you hear your fan constantly changing pitch. Set it wider and the speed moves gradually across a band of a few degrees. Your temperature then swings a little more, but your installation runs noticeably calmer and your motor takes less punishment.

A practical starting point is a range of two to three degrees. If you hear your extraction changing too often, widen it. If your temperature climbs too far, narrow it.

Analogue, and what that gives you

There is no firmware, no network connection, no app and no screen. Nothing to update, nothing that stops when your router reboots, and no display to fail in a damp room. What you give up is remote insight and logging of how your climate moved.
