The heater contact, and why it is heavier than the rest

This box has three kinds of outlet, and they are not interchangeable. The difference is deliberate and worth understanding before you connect anything.

The four lamp contacts are each good for 600 watts, matched to a common grow lamp with a ballast.

The fan output at 7 amps is not simply a switch but a controlled output: it drives your extraction speed on temperature.

The heater contact takes up to 16 amps, roughly 3500 watts. That is a multiple of a lamp contact, for good reason: an electric heater turns nearly all its power into heat and therefore draws heavily, continuously, for as long as it runs. A 600 watt lamp and a 3000 watt heater are electrically very different devices.

What that means in practice:

• Always connect heating to the heater contact, never to a lamp contact. That is far outside its range.
• Add up your total load. Four 600 watt lamps plus a 3000 watt heater is 5400 watts together, more than an ordinary domestic circuit provides.
• Have your installation assessed before switching everything on at once.

The temperature range runs from 5 to 55 °C.

Can I put a heater on a lamp contact?
No. A lamp contact goes to 600 watts; a heater is far above that. Use the heater contact.

Can I run four lamps and a heater at once?
The box can, but your electrical installation becomes the limiting factor. Have it checked.

What is the difference from the two-outlet version?
Two more lamp contacts and a heavier fan output, 7 amps rather than 3.

Is there a timer in it?
For the day and night cycle you need a timer. The box switches; the timer decides when.
