What a second sensor gives you

Almost every climate controller works from one sensor. It hangs somewhere in your room and provides the number everything is driven by. That works, as long as that one spot represents the rest.

In practice it often does not. In a grow room two points half a metre apart can differ by several degrees, because of three things at once: warm air rises, your lamp radiates heat, and your airflow reaches some places and not others.

With two sensors you control on two measuring points rather than one snapshot. Where that matters:

• A tall room, where it is considerably hotter at the lamps than down among the pots.
• A long or irregularly shaped room, where one end warms faster than the other.
• A setup with several lamps, where the heat load is unevenly spread.
• When intake and outlet sit at different points, creating a cool zone and a warm one.

You then measure what is actually happening in your room rather than what is happening at one point, and your control gets correspondingly more accurate. Which is also why this controller costs more than a single-sensor version.

The metal mounting plate is included, making it straightforward to fix to a wall or frame.

The sensors exist to measure one room more accurately. For two rooms with their own target temperature you need two controllers.

Does it work with any fan?
It is intended for AC motors, which is what common fan boxes use.
