What "twin" means here

Twin refers to two fan outputs that can each hold their own speed. That is more than an extra socket, and it is the reason to choose this over a single-output controller.

In a grow room you usually have two fans with different jobs. Your extraction has to carry heat and moisture away; your intake has to bring fresh air in. If those two always run at the same speed, you lose the ability to put any difference between them.

With two controllable outputs you can run your outlet slightly ahead of your intake. More air then leaves than comes in through the inlet, and the shortfall enters through the gaps in your room rather than leaving through them. The result is that all outgoing air genuinely passes your filter, instead of escaping through seams and zips.

The controller combines mechanical fan speed control with digital temperature measurement. The mechanical side gives completely silent operation without the hum cheap electronic controllers can produce; the software gives the accurate temperature control.

The sensor sits on five metres of cable, so you can mount the unit where it is practical and still measure at your crop.

Can I set the two fans separately?
Yes, that is exactly what the twin version offers. It lets you set a slight negative pressure.

How do I know I have negative pressure?
Your tent walls pull slightly inward. If they bulge outward, your intake is too strong.

Is 7 amps enough?
Add up the draw of both fans and leave headroom for startup. If you go over, there is a 14 amp version.

What is the difference from the FCC?
The FCC also has a light sensor, letting it tell day from night.
