Plastic pipette 3 ml

A pipette like this costs almost nothing, which is exactly why it works where a dosing syringe does not.

As soon as you handle several products, your biggest source of contamination is your own equipment. A syringe rinsed between two products always holds a little in the tip and behind the plunger. With a pipette you simply take a fresh one and the question disappears.

Where that matters in practice:

• Transferring a sample into a pot to measure. You do not want traces of nutrient or buffer in there.
• Adjusting pH, where you want to add a few drops at a time and measure in between.
• With products that must not meet each other, where one clean pipette per product is the simplest answer.
• With very small amounts, where even a 5 ml syringe is coarse.

The pipette is graduated, so you can measure as well as transfer. The bulb gives enough control to work drop by drop.

Can I use it more than once?
For the same product, yes. The advantage is precisely that you can throw it away when you switch products.

Is it accurate enough to dose with?
For a few millilitres and for drop-by-drop work, yes. For an exact 5 or 10 ml dose a syringe is better.

What is the difference from the 10 ml pipette?
Mainly capacity. The 10 ml also has a marking for measuring exactly 10 ml and a stated drop size.
