Why it is called hybrid

The name describes exactly what happens, which is unusual enough to be worth explaining. There are two different technologies inside, each doing what it is good at.

The software decides what should happen. It reads the temperature, looks at your settings and works out what speed is needed. That is the intelligent part, and it is where the PRO functions live, such as recognising the dark period through a light sensor.

The transformer carries it out. A heavy coil in five stages delivers the power to your fan. That is the part that determines the noise.

Why the combination matters: cheap electronic controllers do not only decide, they also chop pieces out of the mains supply to slow the motor. Your fan receives a chopped signal, and that is where the familiar hum comes from. A transformer lowers the voltage without damaging the waveform, so the motor gets a clean signal and stays quiet.

So you get the intelligence of a software-driven controller with the noise behaviour of a classic transformer. That also explains the weight and the price: copper is heavy and expensive.

This version controls up to 4 amps. The light sensor for the night function is sold separately.

Add up the draw of every connected fan and leave headroom for startup current. If you go over, there are 8 and 16 amp versions.
