Slaves that add capacity

Here is the difference that makes this range unusual, and it is the exact opposite of how expansion works on many other controllers.

On most systems an expansion module shares the main controller's power. You gain outlets, but the total stays the same: the module divides your capacity, it does not increase it.

On the SPC range it works differently. Each SPC SLAVE 16A MK2 has its own mains connection and brings its own 16 amps. And you can connect up to five per controller.

What that means for how you build an installation:

• Your master sets the control, not your ceiling. Temperature control comes from the master; capacity grows with every slave you add.
• You can start small without boxing yourself in. A setup that grows substantially later does not have to be oversized up front.
• Everything still runs on one control. Slaves are driven automatically by the master, so they follow the same temperature and the same speed.

That last point remains the limit. To run two rooms at different temperatures you need a second full controller with its own sensor. Slaves solve capacity, not a second climate.
