SMSCOM SPC SLAVE 16A MK2 EU

An expansion module for the SPC MK2 in 8 and 16 amps. It supplies another 16 amps of fan outlets, driven automatically by the master.

Connecting it, and the switch that sets its behaviour

The module has two cables, and the difference between them explains straight away why it adds capacity rather than sharing it.

The mains lead goes into an ordinary socket. That is where the slave draws its own power, independently of the master. Hence its own 16 amps.

The link cable goes to the link connection on your SPC MK2. That is how the slave receives its instructions. No fan power runs over this cable, only control.

The module has a two-position switch:

• Auto. The slave follows the master completely: the same temperature control, the same speed. This is the normal setting, and it needs the link cable connected.
• 100%. The slave runs at full power regardless of what the master is doing. Handy for clearing the air, and usable if you want the module without a link cable.

That second mode also means you can use the slave on its own as a full-power supply, for circulation fans that always run at one speed, for instance.

Up to five fit on one master, and it works with both the SPC 8A MK2 and the 16A MK2.

Frequently asked questions

Does the slave have its own temperature sensor?
No. In Auto it follows the master and the master's sensor.

Does it work without the link cable?
Only in 100% mode, at full power. Automatic control needs the link cable.

Does it fit my older SPC?
It is intended for the MK2 versions, which have the link connection for it.

Can I put fans on it that run differently from the rest?
Only by setting the slave to 100%. A separately controlled speed is not possible.
