The same twin controller as the 4.5 amp version, rated to 7 amps, that is 1600 watts.
The rating covers both fans together
This is the mistake most often made with a twin controller, and one sum prevents it.
There are two sockets on it, so it is tempting to assume each socket handles 7 amps. It does not. The 7 amps is the total the controller can pass, shared across both outlets. Hang a 5 amp extraction fan on one and a 3 amp intake on the other and you are at 8, and over the limit.
How to work it out:
- Find the power draw of both fans on their rating plates, in watts or amps.
- If it gives watts, divide by 230 for the current. A 250 watt box comes to about 1.1 amps.
- Add them together.
- Leave headroom. Motors briefly draw more than their rated current on startup, and on a twin controller they can start at the same time.
Expressed in watts, this version handles 1600 watts in total against 1000 watts on the 4.5 amp version. For most setups with an intake and an extraction fan of ordinary size, that is ample.
If you exceed it, choose a PRO version with a slave rather than forcing everything onto one controller.
Technical Specifications:

Frequently asked questions
Can I connect a single 7 amp fan?
That sits exactly on the limit and leaves no room for startup current. Choose a heavier controller.
What happens on overload?
The fuse blows. A spare is included, but a fuse blowing repeatedly means your controller is undersized.
What is the difference from the PRO?
The PRO has additional software that holds fan speed steadier, supports a light sensor, and can drive slave units.
Can I expand it later?
Not this MK2 version. If you want that option, the PRO is the right choice.
