ATA XL is declared as NPK 0-2-2. The zero is nitrogen, the element a plant needs most of and the one that carries the entire growth phase. Atami accordingly position the product explicitly as a supplement alongside regular NPK nutrition.

So anyone giving ATA XL as their only feed is giving a plant no nitrogen. That is not a matter of a smaller yield but of a crop that does not move forward and starts eating its oldest leaves. This bottle does not replace your base nutrient, it joins it.

Why it is worth having anyway: it is about what sits beside that 0-2-2. Vitamins, free L-amino acids, trace elements, carbohydrates, enzymes, seaweed, humus extract and plant extracts. You are not buying nutrition here but the company around it, and that only works if the nutrition is already there.

Why this one works on three media when the rest of the range does not

The ATA Terra nutrients beside it are calculated for soil, with a low NPK and little calcium because soil supplies those itself. That ties them to their medium.

ATA XL has no such tie. Because it is not a base nutrient and therefore does not have to match your substrate's reserve, it is usable on soil, on coco and in hydro. Change medium and your base nutrient changes with it, but this bottle does not.

From the third week, then a flat dose

Atami bring ATA XL in from the third week of the growth phase, so after root set, and then right through the cycle to the end of flowering.

The dose stays level throughout: 1 ml per litre of nutrient solution, start to finish. That is unusual on this shelf, where almost everything has a rising progression, and it makes this one of the few bottles you do not have to change weekly.

The reason for waiting until the third week is root set. Before then there is barely a root system to take anything up with, so giving a stimulator earlier achieves little.

What it does

Atami describe it as a stimulator supporting both root growth and the development of flowers and fruits. The combination works favourably on the condition of the root system and gives a growth spurt with sturdy branches.

Shake the bottle before use and store it at room temperature. Shelf life is limited once opened.
