Bio G Power - Bio Clean

A cleaner for drip systems based on plant soaps and potassium tripolyphosphate. Washes organic soiling loose and binds the hardness in your tap water. It goes into the water first, before you adjust the pH.

Soap does something different with dirt than the other three

This bottle holds two active parts, each doing its own job.

The plant soaps are surfactants. They make water cling to grease and organic matter instead of rolling off it, so a slime layer or greasy film in your hose lets go rather than staying put. It is the same reason you wash dishes with soap rather than water alone.

The potassium tripolyphosphate, declared at 12%, does the mineral work. Polyphosphates bind calcium and magnesium and hold on to them, so they cannot settle out as scale. It is the classic water-softener principle, and it is why this product still does something in hard-water areas.

The combination makes it broadly useful against the organic side of the problem. Against a hard crust of scale that has been there for months, something that breaks existing crystals apart is the more logical choice.

The order for this product is the exact reverse of what other cleaners prescribe, and that is not sloppiness in the instructions.

Bio G Power specify: always add Bio Clean to the water first, stir thoroughly, and only then correct the pH to the value you want. The reason is that both the soap and the polyphosphate shift the acidity of the water. Set the pH first and drop the cleaner in afterwards, and your measurement no longer holds and you end up correcting again.

So if you run several products, follow each bottle's own order. There is no general rule that covers all cleaners, and with this one the exception sits at the start of the queue rather than the end.

Dosing

Mix 1 ml per 10 litres of water, which is 1 in 10,000. That is the leanest dose of the four cleaners in this range. Add it at every watering, so a slime layer never gets to form rather than having to be removed afterwards.

Suitable for drippers, drip hose, sprinklers, irrigation lines and automatic hydro systems. The crop does not have to come out of the system for it: it can be fed right through the cycle.

Yes. It is not an oxidiser, so it does not harm enzymes.
