Narcos Starterkit Comp 1 XL

A complete starter set built around the one-part base nutrient Comp 1, with the three stimulators for rooting, growth and flowering in turn, plus the enzyme product from the range. Made for growing in soil, and put together to cover a whole grow without a top-up purchase halfway.

The base feed is never what runs out first

This is why the XL exists, and it is arithmetic you can check yourself. You dose base nutrient at 5 ml per litre, so a litre of Comp 1 covers 200 litres of irrigation water. You dose a stimulator at 1 ml per litre, so a 250 ml bottle covers 250 litres.

The standard version of this set carries 100 ml stimulators. Those are empty after 100 litres, while well over half your base nutrient is still in the bottle. With 250 ml bottles the parts run out at roughly the same time, which is exactly what you want from a starter set: no separate purchase midway through flowering because one bottle emptied ahead of the rest.

Which grow this set is for

Comp 1 is the base nutrient for calcareous soil and open ground, indoors as well as out. If that is what you grow on, this is the set that fits. If you grow on rockwool or another inert medium, where the feed has to supply everything itself, the Starter Kit Hydro A+B XL is yours: the same stimulators, but with a two-part base nutrient.

For the base nutrient, run 2.5 ml per litre during the first weeks and 5 ml per litre thereafter, at a pH of around 6 and an EC between 1.2 and 2.5. The stimulators go in alongside it daily, each in its own phase.

Frequently asked questions

How does the XL differ from the standard set?
In the stimulators. The standard set carries 100 ml bottles, the XL carries 250 ml. The base nutrient is one litre in both cases.

How far does this set go?
The litre of base nutrient covers 200 litres of irrigation water at full strength, and each stimulator covers 250 litres. For a pot grow that is comfortably a full round.

Can I use this set on coco?
Comp 1 is built for soil rather than coco. On coco, Coco A+B is the base nutrient to use, with the same stimulators alongside it.

Do I give everything at once?
No. The base nutrient runs through the whole grow, while the three stimulators follow one another: Root Stim first, then Growth Stim, and Bloom Stim from flowering onwards.
