Effervescent tablets that release carbon dioxide into your water. One tablet per 100 litres, half an hour before you water, at least twice a week.

This does not put CO2 in the air

Most CO2 products for a grow room work on the air: a bottle, a generator, a burner. This one does not. You drop the tablet into your tank or bucket and it releases the carbon dioxide into the water. The plant takes the extra CO2 in through its roots, not through its leaves.

That is a different story from air enrichment, and it has practical consequences. You do not have to seal your room, you do not have to change your extraction, and you are not measuring ppm in the air. The tab works in the tank and nowhere else.

No Mercy position it exactly that way: as a replacement for the expensive and complicated systems that were, and still are, used to add carbon dioxide to the air.

Why a shortage happens

Carbon dioxide is a nutrient source. Outdoors there is always enough of it, but in a closed or poorly ventilated space it runs down: the plants use it faster than fresh air arrives. According to No Mercy, stalled growth often comes down to exactly this, and in badly ventilated rooms the shortfall can get serious.

Note what that means for your own situation. If you have generous extraction that changes the air several times an hour, your shortfall is smaller than that of someone keeping their cabinet as closed as possible.

Four to six hours, and why not just before dark

The tabs bind the carbon dioxide to the water for roughly four to six hours. After that it is gone.

During dark hours the plant takes up no CO2. No Mercy are explicit about it: adding the tab shortly before the lights go off achieves nothing. So this is not about avoiding the dark period itself, it is about a window of a few hours: give it at a point where the lamp stays on for a while afterwards.

There is magnesium in it too

The tablets are made up with directly available magnesium sulphate. That is not an afterthought but a precaution: if the plant grows faster, its magnesium demand rises with it, and a magnesium shortage is exactly what you do not want to run into at the moment you are speeding things up.

Only on healthy plants

No Mercy are level headed about this. Only plants that are healthy can turn the extra impulse into growth. A plant stalled by a deficiency, a waterlogged pot or an EC that is too high will not grow faster because you added carbon dioxide. Fix what is wrong first.

In use

Half an hour before watering, drop one tablet into the tank or bucket, counted per 100 litres of water. Give your plants this impulse at least twice a week, preferably just in the drinking water each time.

Overdosing is not harmful, but it does not add anything either. The water composition does not change appreciably; the pH may show a slight temporary downward tendency, so measure after it has dissolved.

On the No Mercy grow schedule the tabs join at the sixth internode and run through the rest of the cycle. Use them alongside Bacterial: the extra waste that faster growth produces has to be converted by the life in your medium, and No Mercy name that as the condition for the tabs working at their best.

Use is environmentally friendly and at the prescribed dose poses no danger to people, plants, animals or micro-organisms.

Frequently asked questions

Does this raise the CO2 level in my grow room?
No. The tablet releases carbon dioxide into the water, which the plant then takes up through its roots. You will measure nothing of it in the air.

Why not just before dark?
Because the plant takes up no CO2 during dark hours and the tab only binds the carbon dioxide to the water for 4 to 6 hours. You would be throwing it away.

Can I give too much?
Overdosing is not harmful, but it adds nothing either. One tablet per 100 litres is enough.

Why is there magnesium in it?
Growing faster costs more magnesium. The magnesium sulphate is there to stay ahead of a shortage rather than having to repair one afterwards.

Do I need Bacterial with this?
No Mercy recommend it. Faster growth leaves more waste in the medium, and that has to be converted by soil life for the tabs to have their full effect.
