A 250 millilitre treatment for spider mite, based on clove oil and plant extracts. What separates it from most spider mite products is not what it does to the mite, but what it does to the webbing.

Why spider mite keeps coming back

Anyone who has had spider mite knows the pattern: you spray, it seems gone, and ten days later it is back. That is rarely because the product failed on the mites you hit. It is the eggs.

Spider mites lay their eggs under the webbing they spin. That web is fine and water-repellent, and spray mist runs across it without getting through. The adults you hit die, the eggs underneath do not, and they hatch as normal. You have halved the population and set the clock back, nothing more.

What this one does differently

Spired is specifically made to dissolve the webbing itself. With the web gone the clutch is exposed and the liquid can reach it. That is why it works on all three stages: adult mite, larva and egg.

It is still a contact treatment. What you do not hit, you do not treat, and spider mite sits almost entirely on the underside of the leaf. So spray from below and take your time. Repeat every 4 to 7 days for as long as there is active pressure, at least two to three times, because one pass never gets everything.

What it must not go on

This product must not be used on peppers. Beyond that it is broadly usable: house plants, ornamentals, flowers, fruit and most vegetables. If you are unsure about a crop, spray a single leaf first and look again a day later.

Because the action is partly physical, mites do not build resistance to it. Beneficial insects you may be using are spared, though the same rule applies there: anything you spray directly wet will suffer for it.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I have to spray more than once? Because you never hit everything in one pass, and eggs will always hatch after the first treatment. Two to three passes a few days apart covers a full cycle.

Where should I spray? Mainly the underside of the leaf, which is where the mite lives. Spraying from above misses most of the population.

Can it go on peppers? No. That is the one stated exception; on other crops it is broadly usable.

What time of day? Just before lights out, or under dimmed light. Wet leaf under a running lamp will burn.
