AC Infinity Heavy Duty Fabric Pots (5 Gallon)

A set of five fabric pots from AC Infinity in the heaviest grade the brand makes: 500 grams per square metre nonwoven, with nylon handles and reinforced stitching. Round, roughly 30 centimetres across and 28 centimetres tall.

The metal rings in the rim

This is the reason to choose this pot over an ordinary fabric one, and it appears on almost no comparison list.

Metal rings are built into the top edge, and you can pass training wire through them. Anyone keeping plants low and training them wide has to bend branches out and down and tie that wire to something. With no fixing point that ends in a hole in the fabric, a clip on the rim, or wire looped round the whole pot that slips off every time you water.

With built-in rings you tie straight to the pot, at fixed points, without modifying anything. It also means you can train without moving the pot: the wire hangs off the pot, so everything travels with it when you turn it.

Nineteen litres or twenty

The name says 19 litres, which is the usual size designation. AC Infinity gives the true capacity as 5.39 gallons, which works out at over 20 litres. That is not marketing but a deliberate choice: the brand fills to a dual stitch line in the wall, and that is the line the capacity is measured to. Fill to it and you have more substrate than the name suggests.

Five hundred grams per square metre

That is close to double a common fabric pot and the heaviest we stock. You notice it three ways: the pot stands up as you fill it, the wall insulates the root ball against heat and cold, and the seams hold when you lift a wet pot by the handles. The material is BPA-free.
