An 8 litre fabric pot, 19 x 19 x 21 centimetres, with the Aqua Breathe layer. This is where the range turns from small to serious: eight litres carries a plant through a full cycle in a medium space, and it is the first Gronest with handles.
Why handles start here
Eight litres of substrate weighs roughly two kilos dry. Saturated, three to four kilos of water join it, and there is a plant standing on top as well. So you are lifting six kilos or more, and a fabric pot without handles has to be gripped by the rim, which is the one part with nothing attached to it.
The stitched-in handles spread that load across the seams instead of the edge. You notice it most when rotating pots under the lamp, or shifting one aside to reach a filter. In this range the handles run up to and including 39 litres; the two largest sizes have none, because a pot that size is not something you lift anyway.
Eight litres as a final pot
Eight litres is enough root room for a plant given a normal growth phase and then flowered. What sets the limit is not space but water: the fuller the root ball, the fewer litres the pot still holds, and at some point daily watering stops being optional.
If you run into that and do not want a bigger size, stand the pot on a plant tray with a shallow layer of water in it. Because the fabric is open at the base, the plant draws for itself. That works better at this size than at a large one, since water still travels through the whole ball in eight litres.
The Aqua Breathe layer
The side wall of this pot is more than one layer. The geotextile sewn into it holds water back at the flanks so drainage runs through the base. The substrate therefore stays more evenly moist from top to bottom than in a single-layer fabric pot, where the outside dries first.

Frequently asked questions
Can I lift it by the handles when full and wet? Yes, that is what they are for. Take both handles and lift straight up rather than from one side.
How much water per watering? Reckon on a fifth to a quarter of the volume, so one and a half to two litres, and give just enough that a little runs out of the bottom.
Will it sit on a 20 by 20 cm plant tray? With a 19 by 19 centimetre base it fits exactly. Bear in mind that a full fabric pot bulges slightly.
Can I wash and reuse it? Yes. Rinse the root debris out, let it dry completely and store it flat. Wash without detergent, because residues stay behind in the textile.
