Light and heat are two separate questions

AC Infinity build four products on the same dome: the bare dome, the dome with a heat mat, the dome with light, and the dome with both. This set is the third: light yes, heat no.

That is a choice about your room rather than a stripped-down version. Cuttings that have already rooted and seedlings that are above the soil mostly want light and steady humidity. If the kit sits in a heated room, or in a tent with a lamp running anyway, a heat mat adds little. Germinating from seed in a cool space is the case where bottom heat is the part that counts, and then the version with the mat is yours.

What is in the box

The dome is 3 mm clear PS, so you can watch the tray without lifting it off. Four vent disks sit in the side openings and slide open or shut by degrees, and that is how you steer humidity under the dome.

The dome extender is a separate ring of two vented and two solid panels that bolts between tray and dome with wing nuts. It takes the build height from 23.1 to 27.2 cm and doubles the vent openings from two to four. You fit it once the cuttings start touching the dome, which is usually the same moment you want more air anyway.

Underneath sit a PP base tray that catches the run-off and a PET seedling tray of five by eight cells, so forty cuttings or seedlings.

The lighting

Two IONBEAM bars of 27.9 x 2.7 x 1.5 cm lie on top of the dome. Each carries twelve Samsung LM301H EVO diodes mixing 3000 and 5000 kelvin, drawing 28 watts between them at the socket. The bars are IP65 and rated at 50,000 hours.

The controller in the box dims across four levels and runs a daily repeating schedule, so you set the light regime once and leave it. It is part of AC Infinity's UIS platform and a UIS extension cord is included, so it can join the rest of a UIS setup.

Frequently asked questions

Does it include a heat mat?
No. This set is dome plus light. The version with the SUNCORE heat mat is the AC-HMX5.

Can I add a heat mat later?
A separate mat under the base tray works in principle, but the AC-HMX5's mat belongs to that set and is not sold on its own. Look at a standalone seedling mat in the right size instead.

When do I fit the dome extender?
As soon as plants touch the dome. You gain 4.1 cm of height and two more vent openings, both of which are welcome at that point.

How many cuttings fit?
Forty, in a tray of five by eight cells.

Can it go in a grow tent?
Yes. At 36.1 by 16.7 cm it sits on a shelf or in a corner, and the lighting runs independently of whatever else hangs in the tent.
