Eazy Plug - Eazy Mixx top layer 5 litre

A 5 litre bag of top layer for seedlings. You sprinkle Eazy Mixx in a thin layer over freshly sown seeds, on Eazy Plugs but also on rockwool, coco, press pots or paper pots.

More than just covering

According to Eazy Plug a good top layer does two things. It stops the seed drying out, and it makes the first root grow downwards rather than pushing the seed up or sideways.

For that the layer has to stay as it is. A top layer that clumps or forms a crust when wetted becomes a lid a seedling cannot get through. According to the maker Eazy Mixx stays loose and easy to handle whether it is wet or dry, and does not stick.

It can also stand in for vermiculite, and its pH is neutral.

How to use it

Put the seed in the plug or pot, sprinkle a thin layer of Eazy Mixx over it so the seed is just covered, and spray the whole thing wet. Nothing more is needed.

Frequently asked questions

How much do I need per plug?
Very little, a pinch per seed. 5 litres lasts many rounds.

Can I use it as potting soil?
It is meant as a thin top layer, not as a growing medium for a whole pot.
