Eazy Plug - Rooting Plugs CT24 (24 pieces)

A tray of 24 organic rooting plugs, 3.5 x 3.5 cm, each with a pre-made hole for the cutting. The CT24 is the smallest of Eazy Plug's three large trays, next to the CT77 and the CT150.

Setting a cutting properly in the plug

The hole in the plug is there to let the cutting stand straight and deep enough without bruising the stem. Making a hole in a wet plug with a stick or your finger compresses the material, exactly where the new roots need to grow.

Cut the cutting at an angle, push it to the bottom of the hole and press the top of the plug lightly. According to Eazy Plug no rooting powder or gel is needed with these plugs. If you do use it, it does no harm.

Then make sure the plug can drain and keep the tray warm and humid. Only water when the plug becomes noticeably lighter.

Frequently asked questions

How long before the cutting has roots?
That depends on the plant and the temperature. When you see roots on the outside of the plug, it is ready to transplant.

Can I put seed in it too?
Yes. For larger seeds the CT104C with its roomier sowing hole is handier.
