Eazy Plug - Sowing Set 6 plugs

Six round sowing plugs in a clear tray, with a small bag to cover the seeds with. The Eazy Plug sowing set is meant for germinating a handful of seeds without having to gather separate materials.

Why you cover a seed

A seed lying on top of a plug dries out on its upper side and germinates unevenly. Worse, when the first root emerges and finds nothing to grip, it pushes the seed up or sideways instead of growing down itself. You then get seedlings lying crooked with the root in the air.

A thin layer over the seed prevents that. It keeps the seed moist and gives the root resistance, so it grows into the plug. Eazy Plug recommends a fine layer of Eazy Mixx for this.

How to sow

Soak the plugs completely and let them drain. Put one seed in each sowing hole, sprinkle a thin layer over it and spray it wet. Keep the tray warm and humid and make sure no water is left standing in it.

Frequently asked questions

How thick should the top layer be?
Thin. The seed should just be covered. A thick layer costs the seedling needless effort to push through.

Can I use the plugs for cuttings too?
Yes, according to Eazy Plug the same plug works for seeds and cuttings.
