Does it stay upright half empty? Yes. The wall draws in as the level drops, but the tank stays standing. Do not move it in that state.

Can I hang a submersible pump in it? Yes, as long as the pump hangs clear or sits flat without sharp edges. Never rest anything with sharp corners directly on the fabric.
