The 380 litre foldable water tank is the largest of this range we stock, which also makes it the one most likely to overflow. At this size the question is not whether the tank fills, but where the water goes when it does.
Why the biggest tank overflows most often
That sounds contradictory and is not. Anyone buying 380 litres usually connects it to a roof, and a roof delivers a fixed number of litres per shower regardless of how big your tank is. A small tank overflows and you see it happen. A large tank fills over several showers, stands full for days while you are not watching, then overflows during the next rain. The overflow is not an emergency feature here, it is a part that does regular work.
Connecting the overflow properly
The supplied overflow fitting sits high in the wall. Attach a length of hose and lead it somewhere water can do no harm: a drain, a border, or back into the downpipe below your take-off point. Never let the overflow discharge freely against a wall, a shed side or a patio. At 380 litres that is not a puddle but a steady stream that runs for as long as the rain does.
Set it level, and why that matters more here
A tank standing out of level overflows on one side before it is full and loads the wall unevenly. At 70 cm across and 100 cm tall this is the range's slimmest tall tank relative to its capacity, so uneven ground tells more here than on the smaller sizes. Bed a slab or a board flat into the grass first if you need to.

Frequently asked questions
Can I route the overflow back into the downpipe? Yes, provided you connect below the point where you take water off. Otherwise the water circulates instead of leaving.
What happens if I do not connect the overflow? Water runs out of the opening in the wall and straight down the side of the tank. On a patio or against a wall, that is not what you want.
How much does it weigh when full? Around 380 kilos, on a circle 70 cm across. Stand it on firm, level ground and never move it with water inside.
Is there a bigger size? AquaKing also makes this tank in 500 and 750 litres, but we stock the sizes up to 380.
