Why drawing off beats pouring

A full 10 litre can weighs ten kilos, and you tip that over a measuring jug one-handed by the handle. Sooner or later it goes wrong, and spilled concentrated nutrient is unpleasant stuff on a floor. With a tap you set the can down, hold the jug underneath and draw off. You can see your jug's scale while you do it, which doses more accurately than pouring from a heavy can.
