Matching filter to extractor

Within the DF16 system both the filters and the extractors come in fixed steps, and they do not line up by accident. Filters come in 100, 150, 250 and 350 m³/h; the small extractor switches between 50, 100 and 150, the large one between 150, 250 and 350.

The rule is simple: the filter has to handle at least what your extractor delivers on the highest setting you intend to run. Put a 350 extractor on a 150 filter and you push more air through the carbon than it is rated for, contact time falls and the filter passes odour.

This 250 filter belongs to the middle setting of the large extractor. If you run that at 250 nearly always and only briefly at 350 in warm weather, this is a defensible pairing. If you run at 350 as a rule, take the 350 filter.

The other way round there is no objection. A filter with more capacity than your extractor works fine and lasts longer, since less air passes the same quantity of carbon.
