Secret Jardin Rubber Duct 100 MM

A rubber connecting sleeve of 100 mm, 15 cm wide, with two stainless steel clamps. It goes between two rigid parts, usually between a fan and a filter.

Why rubber belongs in between

A running fan vibrates, however small it is. That vibration looks for a way out, and the easiest way is the structure it is bolted to.

With your fan attached straight to a steel filter and that filter to ducting, the whole thing is one continuous body. The vibration travels through from end to end and every piece of sheet metal along the way rings a little. That is how a small motor becomes audible across an entire installation, and often in the structure it hangs from as well.

A rubber sleeve interrupts that path. Rubber is soft relative to steel: it deforms under the vibration and turns the movement into a trace of heat rather than passing it on. What never reaches the far side cannot sound there.

Which is why such a sleeve always sits at the point between the source and everything else, not somewhere further down the duct. One sleeve directly behind the fan does more than three further along.
