Area decides your lamp, not width

This tent is as wide as a Dark Street 120 and takes its name from it. For your lighting that counts for nothing. Look at what Secret Jardin advises per size:

• Dark Street 90, 0.81 m²: 200 watts of LED for intensive flowering
• Dark Street 120W, 0.72 m²: 200 watts of LED
• Dark Street 120, 1.44 m²: 400 watts of LED

The 120W and the 90 get the same advice while the 120 gets double. That is not arbitrary: light is specified per square metre, and 120 × 60 is simply half of 120 × 120. Anyone going by width and buying a lamp meant for a 120 hangs roughly twice the power this canopy can use.

There is a second side to it, and it matters more than the wattage. A lamp spreads its light over a shape, usually square. Hang a square distribution above a 120 × 60 area and the edges of that distribution land on the canvas. The light is not lost, it reflects, but it no longer arrives concentrated on your plants. For this tent you want a lamp with an elongated distribution, or two smaller ones side by side.

The same goes for extraction: 150 to 250 m³/h, the same as the 90, because air follows volume rather than width too.

Why you buy it anyway

For the 60 cm depth. This tent fits along a wall, into a dormer, under a sloping ceiling or in a corridor where a square 120 simply will not go. And you reach every plant from the front without stretching to the back. At 60 cm deep there is no back corner.

Frequently asked questions

Can I hang a lamp meant for a 120 × 120 in here?
It fits, but you are then running roughly double the power over half the area, and part of the light distribution lands on the canvas. A lamp with an elongated distribution suits it better.

How many plants fit?
That depends on your pot size and training method, but reckon on about the same as a 90 × 90: the area differs by only 0.09 m².

Does it assemble differently from the square sizes?
No, same frame and the same door opening through 270 degrees. Only the pole lengths differ.
