Choose on your ducting, not on your tent

This connector decides which diameter you leave the tent at. That looks like a choice your tent makes for you, and that is precisely the trap.

Your tent decides at most what you start with. The Dark Street 60 and all three Dark Propagators ship with Ø 100 mm, so if you want a spare for one of those, this is the part. But the size that counts is that of your whole air path: fan, filter, ducting and connector.

If one link in that chain is a different size, a reducer goes in. That costs you two things. Pressure loss, because the air is accelerated and slowed again, so your fan moves less than its rating promises. And noise, because it is exactly at that restriction that the flow starts to hiss.

So walk your setup once from filter to outside wall and count the size changes. Zero is the target. If you run a 125 mm fan, buy the DF16125 rather than this, even if 100 mm came with your tent.

Can I connect 125 mm ducting to this?
Only through a reducer, and that costs you airflow and quiet. Take the DF16125 instead in that case.

Do I need the flange holder as well?
Yes. This connector clips into a DF16 holder and does nothing on its own.

Is 100 mm enough for my tent?
For a propagation tent or a small grow tent, usually. Check the advised extraction for your tent size and the diameter of the fan that delivers it.
