When small is the right size

The RainForest range starts at eighteen sites and runs to seventy-two. That is excellent if you work in batches, and excessive if you want to propagate a few plants or keep a collection going.

That is where the CuttingBoard sits. For the collector wanting to carry on an unusual plant occasionally, for the grower propagating from a single mother, or for trying the technique without installing a 72-site unit first.

What you get out of it

A hydroponic propagator does not make roots on a cutting that would not otherwise root; what it does is hold conditions favourable enough that it happens faster and more evenly. The result is a full mass of fine roots rather than a few thick ones.

That makes the next step easier. A cutting with a finely branched root system adapts better to whatever comes next, whether soil, coco or a hydroponic system. Roots formed in water differ from roots formed in substrate, and a fine, broad mass bridges that difference better than a few long strands.
