This adapter set powers up to five 20 watt Cosmorrow LED bars, 100 watts together on 24 volts. It is the largest supply in the range.

When a second supply beats a bigger one

At five bars on one adapter you meet the ceiling of this range, and that is a good moment to think about how you want to grow further. The reflex is to look for a bigger supply. A second supply alongside this one is often the better choice, and not because no bigger one exists.

The reason is switching. Everything on one supply burns at the same moment. At five bars the odds are that your setup now holds more than one kind of light: a growth deck running the whole period, and perhaps an infrared or ultraviolet bar that Secret Jardin say should burn briefly and separately. Once that is so, a second supply is not an extra cost but the only way to keep that control.

The second reason is failure. One supply for your whole setup means one faulty component takes out all your light. Two supplies mean that at worst you lose half and your grow continues while a replacement is on its way.

When dividing, work on wattage: five 20 watt bars make 100 watts, the upper limit of this set. Four bars on here and the fifth, in a different colour, on its own supply is usually the tidier arrangement.
