The Daisy Reflector 80 is the large version: 80 centimetres across, roughly 37 centimetres deep, and suited to a growing area up to around 100 by 100 cm.

Choosing the size: diameter against growing area

With reflectors it is often assumed that bigger is always better. That does not hold here, and the reason is that a reflector returns its light at an angle. An 80 centimetre umbrella above a 40 by 40 cm area throws part of that light outside your crop, and it lands beside the pot after all.

The rule that does work is to choose a reflector slightly smaller than your growing area. The 60 belongs with spaces up to roughly 60 by 60 cm, this 80 with spaces up to roughly 100 by 100 cm. In both cases the reflector is smaller than the area it serves, because it spreads outward.

There is one more practical limit: height. This reflector is nearly forty centimetres deep, and that depth comes out of the space between your lamp and your canopy. In a two metre tent that is no problem; in a hundred and twenty centimetre cabinet it may not quite fit. Measure before ordering, because a reflector you have to hang too close to the crop works against you.

It folds away, so between grows it takes up little room.
